Who We Are

Joe Milligan, Attorney at Law

Co-Founder

Joe Milligan has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1985.  Joe received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. and his law degree from St. Louis University in St. Louis Missouri.

Over the years Joe has worked for several private law firms, two fortune 500 corporations, a county attorney and legal aid. As a private attorney, Joe has handled matters related to family law, debtor’s rights, estate planning, real estate, foreclosure defense and general business needs. Most recently, he has focused his energy on representing debtors in credit card and collection actions and homeowners in foreclosure actions.

Joe is passionate about the mission of Affordable Legal Group: to make legal services affordable to the middle class.  Joe believes that the expression “liberty and justice for all” has become nothing more than empty rhetoric.   It is not possible to have “liberty and justice for all” when more than 50% of the people who interact with our legal system do so without the benefit of consulting an attorney.

Joe believes that working people have become indentured servants; barely able to keep their heads above water, trying to meet monthly payments on credit cards, student loans and unconscionable mortgages.  Joe believes that this mountain of debt eventually manifests itself in a broad range of legal problems that cannot be equitably resolved without the services of an attorney.   These include wage garnishment, estate planning, abusive collection practices, mortgage foreclosures and divorce.

Joe believes that affordable legal services are a precondition to restoring integrity to our legal system.
